Nutrition Resources

USDA Nutrient Database: Nutrition information search engine for a wide array of foods, including things like produce and specific cuts of meat (this is generally regarded as very accurate and a good source of information)

Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics: The national governing body of registered dietitians – this site is also a good source of health and nutrition information from the experts

Find a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN): This search engine is a part of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics website and will help you find nutrition professionals near you

Become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN): Again part of the Academy’s website, this particular link is for students searching for accredited undergraduate programs in dietetics as well as dietetic internships

USDA Recipe Finder: This website allows you to search through recipes from a variety of sources and has the awesome function of being able to search for recipes in a specific price range per serving size or per recipe for healthy eating on a budget or searching for recipes based on specific dietary needs (like low sodium) and even based on the cooking equipment needed

My Fitness Pal: Website and free app (for Android, Apple, and Windows) that is really fantastic for keeping an easy and accurate daily food and exercise log – allows you to search their wide database for specific foods and brands or you can add your own recipes

Recipe Nutrition Calculator: Also through My Fitness Pal but doesn’t require you to sign up to use it – very simple to use and allows you to search their large database of foods for all your ingredients with pretty accurate calorie, carbohydrate, fat, protein, sugar, and sodium content
